    Singapore train station Woodlands
Trains to Malaysia used to depart from the railway station in Keppel Road near Marina Bay. Since July 2011, the trains leave from Woodlands Train Checkpoint in North-Singapore close to the Malaysian border.

Woodlands is close to Johor Bahru, a major city in Malaysia. The Straits of Johor separates Malaysia and (North)Singapore. The Johor–Singapore Causeway (1km) links Johor Bahru across the Straits of Johor with Woodlands in North-Singapore.

The customs, immigration and quarantine facilities of Singapore and Malaysia are moved to the new train station in Woodlands. In the future they want one integrated border checkpoint for passengers in Singapore or perhaps in Malaysia.

    train Singapore - Kuala Lumpur
The main railway company in Malaysia is Keretapi Tanah Melayu (KTM). KTM operates daily a few train services between Singapore and Kuala Lumpur.
